Theon Bower is busy cementing a reputation as one of the hardest-working figures on the London underground music scene. An energetic DJ, avid crate-digger and prolific producer. Drawing on a lifelong fascination with genres as diverse as Disco, World Music, Jungle, Garage, House and Techno, he distils these eclectic influences into sets that snake between Disco, House and Lo-fi beats. He’s a regular on London’s airwaves, having played shows across Threads, Bloop, Netil, Soho Radio, S-Dance, Voices and Loose over the past few years. His original material and prolific edits showcase his own brand of upbeat and energetic House and Disco which he releases on his label Swung Out Records amongst others. At age eleven he bought his first pair of turntables, and to date he has played some of the best venues in London including Brixton Academy, Studio 338, Oval Space, Corsica Studios and of course his spiritual home Brixton Jamm, supporting legendary acts along the way including Groove Armada, Crazy P, Dusky, Horse Meat Disco, Mike Skinner, MJ Cole, Orbital & more. He’s a founding member of the brand Pangaea Disco, who bring up-and-coming disco & world music purveyors together with well-known musical innovators from around the world. Headliners are a typically eclectic bunch; UK legend Plastician, experimental Italian producer Clap! Clap!, Berlin digger Habibi Funk, tropical edit kings The Busy Twist and the fast-rising Bahraini duo Dar Disku have all featured.
