David Carpenter’s music has been heard throughout the United States, including venues in California, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Major performances include "Fredericksburg," premiered by baritone William Stone with the Temple University Concert Choir and Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Alan Harler, as part of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society’s 2007–2008 concert series; "Three Myths" premiered by internationally-renowned bassoon virtuoso Pascal Gallois in 2008; and scenes from his opera, "The Age of Innocence," based on the novel by Edith Wharton, in New York in 2013. He has also collaborated with the Momenta Quartet and the Argento Chamber Ensemble. In 2015, his music received its international debut with a performance of his Rhapsody by pianist Katelyn Bouska in Paris. Performances of his music in 2018 and 2019 included his Memoria, performed by violinist Jambol Leuenberger and pianist Katelyn Bouska in Camp Hill, PA; and his Romanza, performed by cellist Štěpán Filípek and pianist Katelyn Bouska in Fairfax, VA and in the Czech Republic. This work will be featured on the CD "Art of Rondo," to be released by Czech Radio in late 2020. Carpenter’s first CD, a collection of his chamber music entitled "From the Valley of Baca: The Chamber Music of David Carpenter" was released on the Navona label in 2019. His Missa Brevis will be premiered as part of a service at St. Mark’s Church in Philadelphia in 2020.
