Tom Gekas is a Black Metal musician from Germany with a focus on Blackened Death Metal and Atmospheric Black Metal. He's been writing his own songs in 2019 with more of an DSBM approach, after batteling depression for four years up to that point. His father committed suicide when Gekas was 15 years old. An traumatic event that gave birth to the idea of writing music as a coping mechanism. After multiple changes in sound and writing approach, Gekas now comfortably settled down in the Blackened Death Metal and Atmospheric Black Metal genres inspired by acts such as Mgła, Behemoth and Darkthrone and keeps releasing a full length album every single year. Tom Gekas is very aware that within Black Metal it is not common at all to release music under his real name. He stated 'I want to be as authentic as I can get. I want to write music that reflects my soul and my emotions. I am my music and I am Tom Gekas so it was a natural decision to me to go that way.
