Biography

FUN FUN is an Italian band formed by producers Dario Raimondi and Alvaro Ugolini back in the 80’s and still renowned as one of the greatest Italo Disco acts of all times. Their debut release “Happy Station” topped both the Italian and European charts in 1983 with several mixes, including the most popular “Scratch” version by legendary dj Ben Liebrand, which also became a club hit in the Chicago House dance scene shortly after. The follow up single “Color My Love” confirmed the chart success making the Italian duo popular all around the world. FUN FUN’s first Album “Have Fun!” released in 1984 included several dance hits such as “Give Me Your Love” and “Livin’ In Japan”, which helped making their sound on-demand in the American nightclubs thanks to their trademark euphoric synths and dj-friendly percussive intro. The success continued with a second Album released in 1987, “Double Fun” which included several hit singles such as the Flamenco-flavored “Baila Bolero”, “Could This Be Love” and a cover version of Spencer Davis Group’s classic “Gimme Some Lovin”. The LP was followed by the mini-anthology “Mega Hit Mix” released on 12” and CDS and including their biggest hits. FUN FUN’s music continues to resonate in the best clubs and radio worldwide with an extensive series of “best-of” compilations and dj-friendly re-edits / remixes of their classics which are regularly released via their iconic record label, X-Energy.
