Biography

Making an impact since breaking onto the Manchester scene in 2016, Layfullstop has garnered the attention of music tastemakers and industry press around the world with her genre-defying work, experimenting with elements of jazz electronica, gospel, soul and hip hop. With her faith as the driving force, Lay’s music holds deeper sentiments consisting of realness, hope and hardships. Growing up with the likes of jamiroquai, 90s RnB/Gospel music and Japanese Jazz Fusion bands such as Casiopea, it’s not hard to see where Lay’s inspirations and unique blend originated. Not only is Lay known for her strong nod to jazz music, but for her energetic live shows and words of wisdom on and offline. Supported by The Independent, The Guardian and DUMMY amongst others, Lay has garnered attention from COLORS Studios, Redbull Music and BBC Radio producers Jamz Supernova and Rebecca Judd from Apple Music.
