Jessica Bongos is a Nigerian recording and performing Artist who, despite having degrees in International Development and Leisure Events and Facilities Management, has a deep-seated passion for music. Jessica’s childhood memories are mostly of leisure moments at home and car rides that were always filled with music thanks to her musician father, the legendary Bongos Ikwue. She is largely influenced by different musical genres such as soul, Motown classics, jazz, R’n’B, blues, country, and gospel music, Her music style, characterized by softer rhythms and heart-warming themes, is defined by her unique, raspy, sultry vocals and story-telling approach. Although a bit shy and reserved, the singer songwriter is a woman filled with depth and intense in presence and this reflects strongly in her music. She loves the stage and calls it her home. She has performed at various concerts and festivals, both in Nigeria and internationally. Notable performances include the Atlantic Music Expo 2023 in Cabo Verde and the Mindel Summer Jazz Festival 2023 in Cabo Verde. Aside from her musical career, Jessica is an advocate for individuals with Down syndrome and autism, fights against domestic violence in women, supports the Sickle Cell Aid Foundation in Abuja, Nigeria. Jessica is also a U.S Government exchange alumna.
