July August is a folk-indie-rock-pop duo with a strong flair for melody. Inspired by legendary artists such as Simon & Garfunkel, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Led Zeppelin and First Aid Kit, they have etched out a unique and distinctive sound. Featuring Julie Kleive (vocals, autoharp and harmonium) and Jenny Augusta (vocals and guitar), they have built a large cooperative live performance network of hugely talented Norwegian artists like saxophone magician Trygve Seim, contrabass boss Mats Eilertsen, folk-music emperor Tuva Syvertsen and accordion virtuous Frode Haltli. Their music is playful and invites the listener in with vocals that challenge and complement each other. Seeing July August live is a 'must see' experience.
