Drawing Daggers

Biography

Ian Clement first made the scene as a solo artist in 2013 with his debut album Drawing Daggers, on which he conjured up a unique and intimate world, warm and moving, and occasionally somber, but always with a silver lining. His deep soothing voice and engaging style of storytelling demand attention and have led to natural comparisons with the likes of Dan Auerbach, Mark Lanegan, Edward Sharpe, and Bill Withers. Although Ian has been working on a second LP ever since, the road to this sophomore effort was long and bumpy and paved with a string of personal and professional hurdles that finally culminated in Ian calling off an earlier Benelux release due to severe disagreements with his then-label. Now - seven years after his debut and with the help of LA-based record label Cobraside – Ian is getting the opportunity to start fresh and present his second album 'See Me in Synchronicity’ in a way that he sees fit. 'See Me In Synchronicity' was recorded in 2016 with German producer René Tinner, renowned for his work with CAN, Lou Reed, and George Harrison. The album, which is slated for release on April 24, is about recognizing oneself in other people and refers directly to events in Ian’s life. Written and recorded in-between a couple of psychotic episodes, it has inevitably become, both sonically and lyrically, his most personal album to date.
