Writer/Artist/Producer/Engineer Born n raised in Detroit, MI, Black The Freethinka has an undeniable passion for music. Writing at the age of 8 or 9, he developed a rhythm & cadence. He learned to produce beats on MTV Music Generator 3 & Funkmaster Flex Digital Hit Factory. In 2004 he was introduced to a group of hustlers on the North End of Detroit. They called themselves "Don Status", which consisted of Hunned Grand, C-Mo, and Re-Mane. They were already seasoned with tracks like "Dats Da Man" & "Ooh Wee" which were ringing in the hood. This is where Black learned to hustle, as well as hone his musical skills. Freestyling was the norm on da block. With that, and everyday surroundings of the underworld, he continued to grow sharper and wittier. Black then became apart of the group. They released the mixtape "Assume The Position" in 2005 which was produced, recorded, and engineered by Charlie Scratch (Scrizzle) in Highland Park, MI. Black began to watch, learn, and inquire the producer/engineer process. It's was curtains from that point on. Although Don Status never released another project together, they remain in touch. I'm 2010 Black created the company/label, "Free Thinkers Ink Music, LLC." The "COFFEE & WEED" mixtape was the 1st full project released by Black in 2012. The Album "The ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST" debuted 11-11-2016. All tracks are produced, recorded and engineered by Black The Freethinka. Its clear that his best work is ahead of him.
