The Royal Norwegian Air Force Band (Luftforsvarets musikkorps) is one of five professional wind orchestras within the Norwegian Armed Forces. The band was established in 1818, and is celebrating its bicentenary this year. For over 100 years, the band was Trondheims only professional ensemble and has a long and rich history. In 2006 the band became associated with the Norwegian Air Force as a branch of the military services and received their current name. After the transition to the Air Force, the band has expanded its arena of activity from Central Norway to the entire country. The band's watchword is “No genre unfamiliar to us”.
