The Pyros

The Basement Tapes (2018 - 2020)

Biography

The Pyros formed in Burlington VT on January 3, 2018 with Evan Raine (Drummer) and Steven Yardley (Guitarist). Inspired by the Indie, Garage, and Psychedelic Rock of the 2010s, they started creating DIY recordings and writing music. They began developing their sound in a meteoric indie scene in Burlington, and shared stages at local venues, mini-festivals, colleges, and basements. Christian Mingle was the first EP they released accompanied by three videos. After facing a multitude of momentum challenges [2020 pandemic, 3 line-up changes, dropped record deal, and Christian Mingle's extensive video production], they collectively decided to wrap things up as a band. During the pandemic, Steven Yardley engineered new recordings, and revamped old moth-eaten tracks to catalog what The Pyros truly encompassed and sounded like. On January 3rd 2021, The Pyros will release their last musical contribution in the form of a double album: a self-titled record and a box-set called The Basement Tapes. Both albums feature all three bassists during their three years as a band: Liz Stafford (July 2019 - March 2020), Levi Keszey (July 2018 - June 2019) and Jon Bergan (Feb 2018 – June 2018).
