Young Oceans makes prayer music. I sing most of the songs. Sometimes I ask friends with beautiful angel voices to sing songs that I've written. And I'm so honored when they do. This project began in New York City years ago when I was looking for new expressions for our little church. I went searching. At first, mimicking or adding on to old christian hymns felt like the right posture. I still lean on that even now sometimes. But these days I've wanted to be more simple. More direct. More modern with my language. Mostly, I am forever trying to pray and sing words and play notes that are brutally honest. Thanks for listening dear friends.
