Biography

We play what we want and it's usually baroque. Dallas, Texas based Lumedia Musicworks performs on historical reproductions of instruments from the baroque, renaissance, and medieval periods (at historical pitch). Comprised of first-class artists from across Texas, their shows are a mélange of movements and selections from various composers, creating a uniquely dynamic live concert experience. In tandem with their live shows, Lumedia also produces short musical films that are presented both online and at select shows. The subjects of the films range from stylish, cinematic performances to creative narratives specifically written to compliment the music. Besides providing a visual stimulus, the films begin conversations about the commonly unspoken elements of music. By inhabiting both live and digital performance spaces Lumedia creates lasting and positive experiences of this Early Music repertoire. Since their founding in 2017, Lumedia Musicworks has been featured in Texas Arts and Culture magazine (2018) and Early Music America magazine (2020).
