Biography

Nicolas Bône is a French violist. He attended the Paris Conservatory, where he studied with Serge Collot, and pursued further studies with Janos Starker and Menahem Pressler. In 1986, he joined the Orchestre de Paris, while continuing to hone his skills with Bruno Giuranna in Cremona, Italy. A founding member of the Kandinsky Quartet, Bône has performed around the world and recorded an album of piano quartets by Chausson, Saint-Saëns, Castillon, and Lekeu with the ensemble and pianist Claire Désert. He was also a guest performer with the Belcea Quartet in a recording of Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht. He has taught at the Paris Conservatory since 2009.
