Introducing Zuke: an electronic project from producer and synth-wizard, Ed Zuccollo (Kita, Rhian Sheehan, Isaac Chambers). The Zuke project is to create and perform an exploratory journey into the physicality of deep bass with a taste for the cinematic, stories best told with the immersive power of large sound-systems. Expect a dramatic array of electronic bass driven music accompanied by improvised lines played live on the Minimoog synthesizer. Elements of jungle, dubstep, house, techno, breaks and DnB fuse together through the set, visiting melodic beauty, body-rippling basslines and the occasional field trip through deep dark labyrinths. Zuke is an immersive soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist. Zuccollo's electronic inspiration originates from DJing Drum'n'Bass during to the mid 2000's, when artists such as Dom & Roland, Digital & Spirit, Breakage and Calibre were making a mark on the genre. In 2005 and 2006 his talent for selection and mixing earned him a premium seat in the archives of NZ DnB, where he won consecutive podium finishes at national DnB competition 'Rumble in the Jungle'. Zuke has appeared at many festivals around NZ including Splore, Northern Bass, Shipwrecked, Twisted Frequency, AUM, Cubadupa & Luminate. Playing strictly his own productions, often in conjunction with live Minimoog synth lines scattered throughout and constantly covering new ground in his works, Zuke is one to follow.
