Biography

Wolf Weston has been singing since she was old enough to sit still at choir practice. Now an experienced musician, Weston has worked as a songwriter and vocalist in a number of projects for over 12 years. Most notably, she is the front woman and lyricist for Brooklyn band Saint Mela, an energetic project that “tinkers with genre, moving among traces of rap, pop, and wailing rock, often within the same tune” (Pitchfork). Weston’s vocals have been described as “gripping” and “powerful” (The New York Times). Weston’s practice is driven not only through a musical aesthetic and storytelling, but a commitment to collaborative creative work. She has collaborated with musicians and artists Moor Mother (BRASS, Jazz Codes), Billy Woods (BRASS) as well as Fielded, Rah Rah Gabor, Raia Was, & Sebastian Adé, through work with Saint Mela. Weston’s vocal work has also been featured in two exhibitions by sound artist Naama Tsabar: "Perimeters" at The BASS MOA, and "Barricades (Ruptures)" in Gstaad, Switzerland. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her sweet cat, Crow.
