Biography

Born and bred in South London, Max Cyrus is a composer and producer aiming to change the narrative one step at a time. 2017 Max Cyrus collaborated with choreographers Geni Lou & Pax for Breakin’ Convention, creating a mesmerising theatre piece entitled HANNAH. The piece portrays erased stories of women who have achieved significant milestones in history but have never been brought to light. It was performed at Sadler’s Wells Theatre. 2019 Cyrus composed music for short film Blue Monday which was selected for the 2020 ScreenDance Festival in Stockholm, Sweden, and the Richmond Dance Festival in Virginia, USA. His music also appeared on the documentary Killing Michael Jackson. 2020 Max Cyrus was commissioned to compose and produce a bespoke soundtrack to the documentary Uprooted: The Journey of Jazz Dance. Following this, Cyrus produced music for Mo Gilligan’s Black British & Funny on Channel 4. On 22nd October 2020 co-wrote and narrated the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation short film Never Forget Stephen Lawrence. 2022 Cyrus is gearing towards the release of a new release, the Uprise EP. Lead single ‘Blind Treason’, featuring legendary British soul singer Omar Lye-Fook, is due for release imminently.
