Javier Omar Alvarado, known professionally as J.Marado, has been singing for as long as he can remember. When he was a kid, he sang in his local church’s choir. As he got older, he began to make music on his own, notably forming the band Javier’s Future in high school “as a way to blow off steam”. 
 He describes his artistic process as scary. Most of the time, he freestyles when his emotions are running high, singing anything into the voice memo app on his iPhone. He and his team will later go back and add melodies to complete the track. Once before a session, he told a friend, “you’re gonna hear a lot of stuff, and a lot of my truths are gonna come to light”. It’s a vulnerable process, but he believes that without going to a fragile place when making music, it’s impossible to succeed. At its core, his music is a way for him to show people how he feels because nothing else seems to work. A self-proclaimed “Emotional Simp”, Alvarado hopes to make music for people who feel the same way he does. 
 As the importance of music evolves in his life, Alvardo looks back on a moment whereas a teen, he listened to frank ocean, he thought to himself, “I wish I could do that. Put myself out there like that”.
