Shelby Lynne walked into Nashville when she was 19. Her first record, Sunrise, produced by legendary Billy Sherrill was a critical success and included a duet with George Jones. With a discography of 18 albums and a Grammy win for Best New Artist for her album, I Am Shelby Lynne, she has crossed the boundaries of country, soul, jazz, and rock never failing to receive raves from her peers and critics. Her tribute to Dusty Springfield, Just A Little Lovin' was produced by legend Phil Ramone, engineered by another legend Al Schmitt and is considered a worldwide audiophile classic recording. With acting credits in films, Walk the Line, When We Kill the Creators, tv appearances, and worldwide tours, she has rounded the curve as an all-around entertainer for more than three decades. Her self-titled album, Shelby Lynne includes songs from the film When We Kill the Creators in which she plays an artist who chooses love and death over commerce. Her latest effort of gospel songs titled The Servant displays a sparse and emotional landscape that reaches back to a sound from the 50s, echoing Sun Records' style production. She recently signed a book deal with prominent New York imprint Speigel and Grau for her upcoming narrative memoir. She's been a rebel on purpose for 32 years with a focus on music, art, and style, never bending to trends.
