Born in New York, NY and raised in the vibrant downtown area of Brooklyn, he spent his childhood years surrounded by his grandmother, mother, aunts, and cousins. As a first-generation American with roots in Cape Verde and Saint Lucia, Rizzy's multicultural background and experiences living along the East and West coasts have influenced his versatile sound. With a passion for lyrics and captivating concepts, Rizzy effortlessly crafts hits that resonate with audiences. His love for travel and women, combined with his distinctive voice and lyrical prowess, contribute to his magnetic stage presence. Influenced by his mother's diverse taste in music, he grew up immersed in various genres like Reggae, Zouk, Pop, and Hip-Hop, learning songs by Bob Marley, Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G at a young age. Inspired by this musical foundation and driven by a desire to create his own sounds, Rizzy embarked on his musical journey at the age of 19. Discovered by his older cousins, renowned New England DJ Cadillac Jack and Rhode Island Hip-Hop legend Chachi Carvalho, Rizzy recorded his first tracks at Beat Box Studios in Pawtucket, RI, and has been unstoppable ever since.
