Carl B. Phillips is a 50-year gospel music industry veteran, gospel recording artist, songwriter, producer, gospel radio station owner, and podcast host from Detroit, MI. Carl’s recording career began in 2016 with his debut cd “Great Rain”, featuring the singles, “Great Rain”, “I Know What God Did Last Summer” and “Prove Me”. In 2020 Carl released a remake of Stevie Wonder’s “Heaven Help Us All”, followed by the single “Good Enough For God” in 2021. Carl’s latest release “Those Hands Prayed” is a tribute to his pastor who passed in 2022. Carl was inspired to write the song after attending his pastor’s memorial service. Carl stated, “during the memorial service for my pastor, the first thing I noticed was his hands and my mind was flooded with memories about how those hands prayed for me”. Carl co-wrote the song with his pastor’s youngest son Brandon Holland. The song features a duet with mother and daughter Briana and Renita Donaldson. In addition to Carl’s work as a gospel recording artist, Carl recently launched “The Carl B. Phillips Show Podcast” a weekly show featuring conversations with gospel recording artist, producers, songwriters, and other creatives.
