Biography

Kam DeLa is a recording artist, producer, engineer, graphic designer, and multi-instrumentalist establishing his own spin on R&B, crafting his own quirky, yet audaciously groovy sound. Referring to Pharrell Williams as his “guru from afar,” Kam draws a lot of inspiration and creativity from the iconic Virginia mogul. Formerly a member of the now defunct New Jersey Hip Hop trio, DEF Bananas, Kam has shared stages with Kyle, Taylor Bennett, Estelle, Audio Push and more. Born Kameron Cooper on July 13, 1993, he grew up in Pennsauken, NJ, where he was quickly introduced to music with both of his parents being musicians themselves. At the age of 6-years-old, his parents taught him how to play the drums and piano, and around the same time, he became a member of his church’s youth choir. Now, as a solo act, having operated to date mostly as a producer and guest vocalist for various artists, Kam has seamlessly caught his second wind, adding to his already impressive resume by garnering over 7 million streams on Spotify, being featured on BET JAMS as well as Ebro Darden’s Apple Radio show, and receiving multiple major video game production score credits with music he’s created or contributed vocals to. Kam has also collaborated with major German musician, CRO, and earlier this year received over 100K streams on his popular, Soulection-inspired “Type Beat Tuesdays” series where he dropped weekly remixes to some of his favorite records for a month.
