Shiraz began to shine from an early age, from humble beginnings at age 9, singing and touring with her local choir. It was during this time that she fell in love with the art of performance. From her first solo show at 11 to having her songs being played on international radio at 17, Shiraz is always grafting, always creating and forever evolving. With heavy British Jazz and Soul influences like Amy Winehouse, Corinne Baily Rae, and Duffy, Shiraz’s own style heads in the same direction but with a neo-R&B twist that is beautifully complimented by her smooth as butter vocals and mature writing style. Over the last year her music has been featured on BBC Introducing Hereford and Worcester, along with being regularly featured on digital radio and music blogs. On the back of being featured on the radio, Shiraz was then invited to play on the BBC Introducing stage at Hay festival to a packed house and has continued to play festivals in and around the Worcestershire area. Her most recent track ‘Rain’ which she co-wrote with clubland legends TILT was picked up by Howie B’s UK record label Pussyfoot Records, the track will be released on the 28th of June. Her two tracks ‘Done The Dirty’ and ‘Simmer Down’ have been snapped up by BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra and Jamie Cullum’s BBC Radio 2 show with BBC Sounds calling her ‘one of the UK’s new emerging artists’. Shiraz is making her presence known in the West Midlands and the rest of the world.
