Pascal Finkenauer emerged from local Alternative/Punk scene in Lüneburg/Germany, at the age of 16 and from that on joined and formed numerous bands before starting to release music as solo-artist under his own name. He was singer of electro collective JAW and guitarist and singer of Trash Punk Band THE BLACK CHERRIES. In 2005 he sang the chorus of Top Ten Hit „An Tagen wie diesen“ of one of german most successful Hip Hop groups FETTES BROT and joined them as guitarist and vocalist in their live-band throughout following two decades. But his own music, which merely has in common with Hip Hop that he occasionally uses spoken vocals to express his lyrics next to sampled beats, is hardly to categorise due to its variety in musical styles and singing techniques over the years. He generally writes, plays, records and produces his music on his own, sometimes accompanied by his live-band called DAS LICHT. The common thread remains his recognisable voice and special lyrics. „Punk-Chanson“, „Singer-Songwriter-Wave“, „Beatnik-Rock’n’Roll“ are few labels created to name his variety and diversity in style ranging from acoustic to punk, from orchestral and chanson to indie rock and experimental. He also released instrumental music (SIGNALS) and spoken word poetry (OK Tropfen). He lives and works in Hamburg/Germany.
