In the middle of a hot summer, Rasual finds himself waking up at 7:33am. After watching a video clip of Kendrick Lamar, he was inspired to write a verse for “HiiiPower”. Shortly after, Rasual and his childhood friend MoThoro formed a rap group at 15, MnR. A few years after graduating from Westchester High School, Rasual & MoThoro started their own record label “LFTFLD”. LFTFLD, pronounced “Left Field” consists of rappers, producers, videographers and graphic designers. As far as his music today, Rasual receives a lot of inspiration from artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z. In addition to music, a large part of Rasual’s creative expression is film. Directors such as Christopher Nolan and Quentin Tarantino play a major role in the way Rasual views the expression of his art, hence why his music videos are so cinematic.
