Biography

Willie Wisely is that rare bird, mixing outsized stadium-rock showmanship with songs so lyrical, personal and true, you'll leave the show feeling like you've got a new best friend. He is among the most distinctive songwriters of his generation, seasoning his talent with decades of touring, three times to Japan, over eight studio albums; 18 years a resident of LA's songwriting bastion Laurel Canyon; composing indie film scores and even some unexpected appearances acting in TV and film. In 2018, Wisely returned to his native Twin Cities giving yet more time to his music and family, and to again be a part of one of the country's most richly artistic scenes. In his four decades of music making and crowd play, Wisely has followed the muses of singer, guitarist, producer, songwriting collaborator, composer, and ever the clothes horse. His latest studio album "Face The Sun" produced by John Fields who crafted Wisely's 'start here' 90's albums "She" and "Turbosherbet", includes a Wisely chosen cover of his long-time favorite 60's obscurity, Jackie Lomax' “Fall Inside Your Eyes”. In 2023, Wisely has released a surprise EP of playful and touching Christmas classics-to-be. Inspired by a whimsical promise years ago to write a song every holiday season for his kids, finally "Christmastide Dreams" bloomed into a five-flower poinsettia mini album. Each track a celebration of joy, love, family and of course, humor. All featuring Prince's longtime keyboardist Tommy Barbarella.
