Boom Boom - “2 In2 The Groove” Created by UK musician & producers Paul Fishman & Dave Harris, the album is a collection of 13 songs for a legendary P Funk band that never existed. After successful careers within bands during the 80’s, Fishman & Harris met in a London recording studio and decided to do some writing together. This was the beginning of their music production partnership and friendship. Sharing a common love of soul music, the funk and humour became the foundation of the relationship. There was also Prince. Both were fans, how could you not be? One of the first songs they wrote was for an artist signed to Prince’s record label, later they would remix other tracks for Paisley Park and Motown. They also began recording a batch of songs for an album based around a concept of a virtual P Funk band called “Boom Boom” that references Sly Stone, Tamla, George Clinton and Prince. Recorded at Chad Valley studios, with assistance and thanks to Roland Kerridge (drums and percussion), Gary Barnacle (sax) and anybody else who happened to be working with us.
