Biography

Started as a graduation project in 2012 at PXL Music Belgium for master in vocals. The band recorded their first self titled album "Mental Circus" with Tom Englund (Evergrey/Silent Skies) as guest singer as a part of the graduation. Musicians from PXL Music as well as hired musicians formed the first full line-up. Mental Circus ' influences were Evanescence, Within Temptation and Marilyn Manson. Female fronted band Mental Circus with Sanne Marico as front gained a lot of interest from press, radio and fans. After graduation, bass player Nic, left the band due to professional reasons. In 2017, the band released their second full album "Divine". A powerful album with up-tempo songs, mid tempo and a strong ballad. With "Divine", the band played festivals, clubs and a small tour with Blaze Bayley in the UK. 2 years after the release of "Divine"the band started writing/pre-recording songs for a new full album. Due to the pandemic of COVID 19, the process of writing and recording dramatically reduced. In June 2020 the single "Not Sorry" was released. A song that was well received by fans and new listeners alike. May 2021, a new single "Cast Your Stones" will be released. A song that contains beats, samples, heavy guitars, grooving bass and kicking drums. Mental Circus will release a new full album around summer 2021 called "Freaks of Nature". An album to look forward to !
