Over the course of many years, Bob Holroyd has had the distinction of carving out niches for himself in both the electronic dance and ambient worlds. Cult club classics 'African Drug', 'Drumming Up A Storm' and 'The Day Before' put one foot firmly on the dancefloor, and as a result his work has been remixed by many artists including Coldcut, Four Tet, Joe Claussell, Extrawelt, Synkro, Luca Bacchetti, Nitin Sawhney, Mogwai and The Album Leaf. However, his work work progressively explores more ambient, textural spaces incorporating elements of neoclassical, jazz and found sounds. His 2011 release 'Afterglow' which dispensed with drums completely was Bowers and Wilkins album of the month, and Holroyd's most recent album 'The Cage' was used as the soundtrack for an experimental architectural exhibition at the 2018 Venice Biennale. His has releases on the US label Six Degrees Records, and more recently on Peter Gabriel's Real World imprint Real World X, and has been licenced extensively for films and tv programmes including : The Dark Knight, Breath Of Life, Centre Of The World, Sacred Planet, True Blood, Lost, Coast, The Sopranos, Death Race Inferno and Five Voices. 2017/2018 composed part of the score for 'Living In The Future's Past'. www.bobholroyd.com www.facebook.com/bobholroydmusic
