Weaving poetic lyrics with dreamy, psychedelic & alt-pop sounds, Cenzina embodies a hybrid genre of music. Inspired by a range of influences from Lana Del Ray , Jhene Aiko and Marina and the Diamonds, to classics such as The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac, a love for poetry, storytelling, and healing through catharsis lies behind her drive to create and share. Cenzina grew up in Mississauga, emerging as an artist in Vancouver after recovering from a major health scare. An experience she describes as “an opportunity to step deeply into [herself] and introspect” , Cenzina delved into poetry and songwriting, going on to record and release an EP followed by a series of singles. From acoustic nights to high-energy, full band performances, Cenzina has played and headlined at some beloved local venues such as The Railway Stage, The Roxy, The Portside Pub and more. Recently Cenzina has collaborated and recorded a few upcoming singles with her band and members of Vancouver’s on-the-rise collective of artists known as The Project Vancity. Cenzina currently has multiple projects on the go and is working on a new body of work recorded with her full band. The first of these releases are her latest singles ‘Doll' and ‘Oz’.
