El Maestro, whose real name is Moustapha Diop, was born in Yoff on July 11, 1986, 4 years later, his father assigned to Diourbel, a region in central Senegal. In 1993 Maestro enrolled in Keur Serigne Mbaye Sarr primary school but it was in 1997 that he became a Rapper thanks to his childhood friend Stefane Kabou. 
 In 2001 he released his first single ego trip with Kporal one of the Diourbelois rappers it was at the CEM Grand Diourbel college. Passionate about music, he turns out to be a very melodic singer with his afro-acoustic voice, Maestro knew early on that he was not a musician who had to limit himself. 
 In 2006 Maestro joined the group Three Concept but he felt too limited musically which led him to form the group FREE CONCEPT with his friend-in-law Maag Daan in 2007 and the talented JB joined them the following year and they released a product which denounced cheating students this single had taken 2nd place in the National inter-school competition (ANEMSI) in 2010. 
 2010 was the year of the trophies as they were the winners of the NESCAFÉ AFRICAN REVELATION competition and represented Senegal at the Pan-African level and took 3rd place behind Nigeria and Cameroon. This stage experience allowed El Maestro to go to the National School of Fine Arts in order to better master music. In 2016 he graduated second in his class with his music theory medal with the PIANO as his main instrument.
