Uniting Voices (formerly known as Chicago Children’s Choir) is a nonprofit organization and recording artist creating a harmonious world through music. From its roots in the Civil Rights Movement in Chicago, Uniting Voices has grown into an influential artist in its own right, collaborating and performing with some of the world’s most influential musicians and musical institutions, including Beyoncé, Bobby McFerrin, Chance the Rapper, the Eagles, Yo Yo Ma, Luciano Pavoratti, Nesma Mahgoub and others. Through more than 55 years of international touring, Uniting Voices has performed for leaders around the world (former President Obama, former South African President Nelson Mandela) and is celebrated for using music as a tool to transcend cultural barriers. As a nonprofit organization, Uniting Voices has impacted the lives of thousands of diverse youth throughout its 65-year history. Since its founding, Uniting Voices has built programs that reflect the racial and economic diversity of Chicago. Eighty percent of the youth it serves are from low-moderate income homes, and more than 4,000 students annually participate completely free of charge, though all singers in its programs receive some level of subsidy. High school seniors enrolled in its choir programs have a 100 percent graduation and college acceptance rate, and many have gone on to become global ambassadors who embody Uniting Voices’ core values in a wide array of professional fields.
