L'amour sorcier

Biography

"Russian technique and French charm" a reviewer wrote after Singer’s interpretation of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. A flattering remark, which the years spent with cellist Walter Grimmer, himself a Gendron student, could certainly explain. Fascinated by chamber music from the youngest age, Singer became the Swiss Piano Trio cellist quite naturally in 2000. From then on, he participated in the ensemble’s artistic development and successively won the 1st Prize at the Caltanissetta International Competition (I), the 1st Prize at the International Brahms Competition (A) and the Swiss Ambassador's Award. With his longstanding accomplice André Fischer, a wonderful musician and guitar virtuoso with whom he plays in an outstanding cello & guitar duo since the adolescence, Singer appears more and more on the international chamber music scene. With world famous organist Guy Bovet, Singer also performs regularly, whether in an original repertoire or in adapted works such as Franck’s cello sonata in which the piano part has been transcripted for organ by Bovet himself. During the last twenty years, he recorded for the labels SwissPan, Audite, Claves, Acanthus Music, Grammont, Stradivarius and made broadcastings for Espace 2, DRS 2, SF1, RTSI, ORF, Vietnam National TV, Australia ABC, Radio Television Hongkong, Venezuela State TV, CBC Canada and many others.
