Variety of subject and era give German-Chilean soprano Josefine Göhmann a stylistic range stretching from the late Renaissance through Mozart, Strauss, Bartók and Messiaen to contemporary music, forming the core of her artistic endeavor. In duo with pianist Mario Häring, Josefine Göhmann presented her debut album in co-production with German Radio Deutschlandfunk and Munich based label Solo Musica under the title “réBelles! portraits lyriques” on the topic of female empowerment and 100 years of the movement for women’s rights. Since „réBelles!“ Josefine is grateful for consecutive productions with Deutschlandfunk such as „Weib & Wahn“, „Maria. Ein Leben“, „Wortspiel. Spielweisen“ and Debussy’s Bilitis for the album „Extase“. Josefine creates multilayered concepts around female entity - most recently an opera production for Berlin’s Avantgarde opera house “Neuköllner Oper” creating a resurrection of cultural historically murdered female creators transforming the 7 doors of Bartók’s Bluebeard into chambers of emotional enlightenment… Josefine Göhmann emerged as Poppea at Opéra National de Lyon, as Cefisa at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Paris, Fille at Festival Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo as well as at Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, Heidelberger Frühling, Reaktor Wien, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Theater Aachen and Semperoper Dresden. Josefine’s operatic repertoire includes Mozart’s Vitellia, Contessa, Donna Anna as well as Bartok’s Judith and Strauss’ Arabella.
