JSMINE SOPHIA is a self-taught singer, songwriter, producer and visual artist based in London. Hailing from the UK with an Indian father and an English mother, JSMINE began producing and creating music at the age of 19 from her bedroom. Fusing elements of Electro-R&B, Pop, and Hip-Hop, JSMINE marries melancholic undertones with hypnotic melodies and powerful lead vocals, defining a sound that is uniquely her own. JSMINE’s earliest influences come from strong female artists of 2000s R&B, such as Alicia Keys, Beyoncé and Rihanna. More recently, her song-writing has been deeply inspired by the lyricism and storytelling of artists such as Frank Ocean, Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey and SZA, whilst her production is heavily influenced both by the drums and sonics of modern hip-hop, and by experimental artists such as FKA Twigs and Sevdaliza. In 2020, in the midst of global chaos, JSMINE disappeared to develop and refine her artistry, working for the next two years on what has become her biggest body of work to date - 'ODYSSEY' - an experimental and genre-defying 2-part EP which dives deeper into the Pop, Electronic R&B, and Alternative spaces. JSMINE released 'ODYSSEY I' in November 2022, and 'ODYSSEY II' in March 2023, with each EP respectively exploring the lighter and darker soundscapes that, in their duality, define JSMINE SOPHIA.
