An highly accomplished artist renowned for her mastery in both Hindustani classical music and Kathak dance. Despite being a Masters in Economics from Visva Bharati Santiniketan, she has pursued her passion for Hindustani classical music & Kathak dance with unwavering dedication. She is a gold medalist and a National Scholar in Kathak.Her career spans over a decade, during which she has earned numerous accolades, including awards such as Zee SaReGaMaPa 2007 and Voice of Dubai. She has released several music albums that have been widely appreciated, showcasing her prowess as a playback singer. She has also graced the stage with eminent artists- Pandit Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shankar, and Ghulam Ali, Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal.In addition to her performance career, Somdatta is dedicated to teaching Hindustani classical music and Kathak dance, both in the UAE and internationally. Her vision and leadership in founding Symphony Sargam reflect her passion for music, and cultural preservation.
