Margee is a musical project by Alexandre Gimard, a 29 year old french producer based in Amsterdam. His music has resonated throughout musical scenes around the world, performing at festivals like Afrikaburn, Wonderfruit, WeCanDance and the Monastery Festival, to name a few. He received his first musical education at the age of 8, studying at the classical academy of Monaco, playing drums and the guitar. Later in his life, he pursued the practice of guitar and bass guitar and performed in different funk/rock bands. When moving to Holland in 2013, Alex broadened his musical interests and started his way through electronic music. Margee’s sound can be recognised by his groovy baselines, floating pads and swingy rhythms. Having been based mainly in France, the Netherlands and Thailand, he gets his musical inspiration from various genres and cultures, preferably new, undiscovered and golden all-timers. Alex has always experienced music as a way to enhance his mood and state of mind, and as a driver for self-expression. Music "brings us in" and helps to connect by allowing us to feel and thus refine our sensibility and develop finer self-awareness. Alex is in love with the endlessness of possibilities that creating music brings, exploring different paths, shapes and qualities of sound throughout the experimentation process. This pursuit of an endless infinite trip is a fundamental aspect of Alex's being and he loves to share this with others.
