Biography

Hailing from the Black Forest in the South of France, and currently residing near the City of Mannheim, unsigned indie pop | electro pop artist Jenkō is making a name for herself with her own sound inspired by classic pop, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll. She started playing keyboards and piano at age 3, morphing classical pieces into what sounded more like modern pop music. Jenkō finds inspiration today from strong rebellious female singers like Pink!, Janis Joplin, SIA, and Amy Winehouse. Refusing to be limited to a single style, she’s comfortable with genre hopping while never forgetting her roots in classical music. After performing with several music projects over the past 10 years, Jenkō decided it was time to focus on her own solo project in 2019. She found success with the track “Slow Down” which was played in Austria at various regional stations and in Germany at Radio BigFM and Radio Regenbogen. Determined to have her music reach as many people as possible, she has performed at several festivals, television shows, radio stations, and charity events. Her music deals with topics of intense experiences and broken hearts. Her German pop debut "Klein und besiegbar", is an echo of the times . Sung from the soul, Jenkō releases her first German single on December 17. "Klein und besiegbar" captures the current mood of being stuck in the seemingly endless lockdown. Powerful piano and electro vibes and the deep, honest lyrics make the song a distinctive new release.
