BIOGRAPHY – WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER KNOTT STREET NOIZE CoCky Born in Detroit MI in 1969, William Christopher Knott can trace his early love for music to his childhood mornings where he would wake to the sound of Marvin Gaye and Motown echoing from his kitchen. Music was an important part of his upbringing and a center point for his family in his early years. At the early age of 14, Chris purchased his first turntable and that was the start of his musical journey that continues for over 25 years. His early influences included Run DMC and The Jackson Five as they are a huge part of the sound he is known for today. With a mix of urban beats and classic melodies, he has maintained a sound that makes him unique to the industry. Growing up in the inner city of Detroit he had a lot of experiences that shaped him into the artist he is today. He became interested in rap at the age of 15 and used it as a way to express himself and to tell his life story. With his unique sound and heartfelt lyrics he began to rap at local clubs. Highlights include: Opening for Lil Wayne at the Red Zone in Columbus, OH- 2001 and opening for Franchise Boyz in West Virginia- 2003. In 2004 Chris attended the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe OH and graduated with his engineering certificate and began his recording career. He continued to express himself by writing rap lyrics, but at this point in his career he turned heavily to produce other artists.
