Biography

Sunflower Summit (she/they) is a queer Chicago Latinx artist and producer, creating music that hits right in the feels. Sunflower Summit’s debut album, Love Notes, a musical diary recorded live with a group of her friends released in 2019. Kicking it off with a small couch-tour throughout northern Illinois, the album was partially funded with a successful kickstarter campaign. Sunflower Summit then learned to produce from home, and released a slew of singles and eps with other artists. Warmly thought of as the “year of impatient releasing”, 2021 blossomed with many collaborations. Learning that women make up less than 2% of producers within the music industry, Sunflower Summit set out to make an album with a women led team, including Katie Dwyer, a South Dakota mom of four and badass producer, and Caridad Espinosa, a production educator in Ecuador. In This Moment, a collection of songs reflecting the intense feels of living during a pandemic, released in May of 2022. 2022 ended strong with a surprise release of When it Snows, an album to express their deep love for snow. The summer of 2023 was met with Sunflower Summits first Midwest tour! This tour was incredible, getting to sing in an underground cave and atop a mountain! Sunflower Summit continues to grow and evolve, now with new bandmate Anna Torgerson. A new album is in the works with an accompanying poetry book, set to release in 2024.
