Tristeza is a post-rock instrumental band with members currently living in the U.S. (California), Mexico and Germany. The band has drifted in and out of the scene for years, with their roots still firmly planted in the underground. Tristeza formed in San Diego in 1997 with original members: Christopher Sprague, Luis Hermosillo, Jimmy LaValle, JIMS Lehner, and Stephen Swesey. This line-up recorded all material that was released through 2003, including the albums "Spine and Sensory" (1999) & "Dream Signals in Full Circles" (2000). In 2003, Jimmy LaValle began focusing on his solo project: The Album Leaf In 2004, Tristeza enlisted guitarist Alison Ables and keyboardist Sean Ogilvie to write and record the album "A Colores" (2005) along with the experimental CD/DVD release "En Nuestro Desafio" (2006). In 2007, Tristeza members Christopher, Luis and JIMS along with Sean, began collaborating with musicians in the Bay Area, including Camaron Stevens (guitar), and released the "Fate Unfolds" (2009) mini album. In 2010, Tristeza recorded the album "Paisajes" with Tim Green who recorded the band's 1st album. "Paisajes" featured the original members: Christopher (guitar), Luis (bass), JIMS (drums) with Camaron Stevens (guitar), Chris Hash (keys), and Josh Lindenfelzer (trumpet/drums). Tristeza members have continued to record at SANTO studio through the years. NEW MUSIC from Tristeza is expected in 2024. JIMS has also recorded in other projects such as: Pit or Portal
