Michelle Malone has been a mainstay of American roots music for more than 3 decades, mixing roadhouse rock with blues, folk, and country-soul. It’s a sound inspired by her Southern roots that’s taken the award-winning songwriter around the world. She continues to contribute to the Georgia sound on Southern Comfort, an album whose songs feature contributions from Blackberry Smoke members Charlie Starr and Paul Jackson, The Georgia Satellites' Rick Richards, and Americana icon Buddy Miller. The influence of Dean Dillon looms large, too, with Malone co-writing half of the album’s songs alongside the Tennessee Whiskey writer. This music may be influenced by Malone’s southern roots, but it’s a sound for everyone everywhere. Malone gives her songs a sense of place while still making them sound emotionally universal, and that talent — not the guest appearances, but the expressive vocals and sharp edged songwriting — is perhaps the most comforting thing about her latest record. "Equal parts badass guitar slinger and sweet songstress, with masterful lyrical introspection - sublime to raucous. GUITAR WORLD "The kind of singer and songwriter who can jolt things into overdrive. NEW YORK TIMES "raucous and jubilant alternating between soulful ballads and rowdy, riffy blasters." ROLLING STONE "4 out of 5 Bunnies " PlLAYBOY MAGAZINE The soul of a bluesman, the heart of a folk singer, and the guts of a rock and roll star wrapped up in one fiery bad ass” NASHVILLE RAGE
