Biography

DJ Juanito is originally from the Oakland S.F. Bay Area. He's one of the 1st to produce Megamixes & put it on vinyl. His 1st record labels were SoundEFX & FunkyMix Records both established in the mid 80's. In 1991, once in Los Angeles, he produced a couple of TechnoRave Megamixes & dropped those on vinyl as well. In 1992 he created a label called Bust A Groove, a Techno / House Music Mashup Label, going under the alias Johnny Loopz. In 1993 he created GROOVE NATION RECORDS, the 1st all House Music Label on the U.S. West Coast. In 1994 he produced A MOVER LA COLITA, an International Club Anthem that catapulted him into DJ stardom worldwide, followed by ESA NENA LINDA. Also in 94 he signed his 1st record deal with Scotti Brothers / BMG / Warner Brothers. In 1995 DJ Juanito made music history & became the creative founder of Universal Records, now Universal Music Group, producing its very 1st record ever released! In late 1995 DJ Juanito had 3 records on National Radio Rotation, AT THE SAME TIME! According to the PD at Power 106 in Los Angeles that was a feat that only one other producer had accomplished at the time, Dr. Dre! After surviving the vinyl record depression, compact disks, Napster & digital downloads he kept producing and amassed a huge catalog. Today he's a Voting Member of the Recording Academy and Vice President of the new Dance Label UTHERIUM RECORDS in Dallas Texas. After 35 years in the music industry DJ Juanito has finally entered the Grammy conversation.
