My journey as an artist began with playing drums in a teen band, but my voice was where my heart truly resonated. Performing in the musical "Fame" at the Hungarian Operetta Theatre solidified my passion for singing. After experimenting with stage names like "Nara" and "Naren," I ultimately embraced my real name, Barbara Nadas, as it felt the most authentic. At fourteen, I joined a cover band and spent ten years performing a wide array of music, shaping my confidence and love for the stage. A pivotal moment was watching "The Amy Winehouse Story," which inspired me to write my own songs. Initially, my music focused on unfulfilled love, but my latest work reflects my thoughts and experiences over the past five years. Recording acapella on my phone led to a collaboration with renowned Hungarian producer Krisztián Burai, resulting in a feature that has over 1.5 million views on YouTube. In 2018, I attended the Berklee 5 Weeks Summer Performance Program, which motivated me to write and sing in English, leading to my first English original release in 2022. One year later I released a song written with Aaron Kamin and remixed by Tom Martin, marks a new direction in my career. This project encapsulates the themes of joy, freedom, and self-expression that define my artistic journey. The title track of my new album “Stay” is a soulful anthem that replicates my journey of resilience and self-expression.
