Joakim Andersson (born in Ystad, Sweden, in 1969) got his Master of Fine Arts in Music after studying classical guitar under the guidance of Gunnar Spjuth, Göran Söllscher and Per-Olof Johnson at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University. Early influences of great educational value came from the two guitar teachers Jörgen Nilhamn in Ystad and Wally Vilhelmsson in Malmö. Later, he studied chamber music in Copenhagen under the guidance of conductor Lars Jensen. He has participated in masterclasses by Roberto Aussel, Leo Brouwer, Manuel Barrueco and Eduardo Isaac, among others. Joakim Andersson has been awarded many honours as a soloist, pedagogue and chamber musician. As a chamber musician in Duo Scatto, Joakim Andersson has given concerts at major music festivals, such as “Music at the Castle” in Stockholm, and has appeared on Swedish radio and television. Duo Scatto released the CD “Latin Portraits” (Euterpe Musica/Naxos), highly acclaimed by critics. “Apasionado” was his CD debut as a soloist. This album was also highly praised by critics around the world and is concidered ”a very fine contribution to this field…//…one can hardly ask for more.” (Soundboard Magazine, USA) His new album ”20/21” is out now and features music by Carlos Moscardini, Léo Brouwer, Sergio Assar and Milan Tesar. The album is dedicated to all victims of Covid-19, the ones who have left us and the ones who suffers from severe post-Covid-injuries.
