Chris Sanders is an award winning children’s songwriter, performer and author, best known for songs such as the 111 Ambulance Song (also available in 999, 911 and 000 versions), Mittens Official Song and Angel Star In May 2021 Chris was announced as a winner in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition for Mittens, a song about a famous Wellington cat who was awarded the key to the city by the Mayor and was even up for NZ’er of the year against Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern! In 2020 he was also nominated for a Tui Award as Best Children’s Music Artist and was given an NZ Honour from Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy for his charitable work through children’s music and literature. Today Chris has 6 self published children’s books with music, including ‘The World’s Greatest Teddy Bear Hunt ’ being a collaboration with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. It commemorates the more positive memories of family time and a strengthening of community spirit during the lockdowns. Chris also has his own stage show Who Wants To Be A Superhero - Ambulance Musical written for St John NZ and is in the midst of launching his second musical ‘Hana the Glowworm’ @Curious Creature with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. He has also done several collaborations with award winning musicians Itty Bitty Beats and Levity Beet
