People say “quantity over quality”, but when first discovering A$THMA, you’ll quickly notice he goes hand for hand in both aspects. Born and raised in the Montreal borough of Nouveau-Bordeaux, the dynamic culture the young artist grew up around serves as both a muse and an outlet to let his emotions out within his music. Choosing to not stick to one specific sound, he shows off his versatility in every track, usually utilizing many different sounds. Having an aspiration for music since young, A$THMA signed up for his school choir at 7 years old. When he was 11 years old his friend showed him GarageBand on his MacBook where they recorded his first ever song, which lead up to him stepping into his first professional recording studio at age 14. Creating hit studio singles such as “Bordeaux” & “Mula” at 15 years old followed up by “Famous” & “Codeine & Heartbreak” at age 16, the prodigy showed he was to be taken serious, eventually landing him shows all over the city. Now at 19, he either spends his time recording at home or going to school where he’s studying sound & music. With each track, A$THMA paint stories from his personal life that are both relatable and aspirational, crafting a soundscape that mirrors his ongoing journey. As he continues to pursue his passion, the music he makes becomes the anthem for all those who dream alongside him.
