Daniel Chukwuemeka Ohiorenuan Nwosu, known professionally as DCON, is a Nigerian rapper, singer & songwriter, born on 13 June 2001 in Benin City, Edo State. In early 2017, and at the age of 15, he began to take a keen interest in hip hop culture. He then went from writing poetry to writing rap lyrics. He composed his first song titled “No One But You” and continued writing rap and alternative lyrics over the course of the next few years. In April 2019, at 17, he posted a remix to the 2014 track “Driving Ms Daisy” by Logic and Childish Gambino on Instagram. He went on to posting videos of himself performing both covers and original songs on the platform, receiving praise from Nigerian rappers like Phenom, PsychoYP & Blaqbonez. Later that year, he and two other artists he met at school began releasing songs together under the pseudonym “DXK” & subsequently released their first single, “Safe and Sound” in December 2019. He kept recording solos alone & collaborations with DXK. On 7 February 2020, and at the age of 18, he released his first official solo project, a mixtape titled “SAGE” containing the tracks “Sage”, “With Me”, “Pass”, “Tuesday” & “Alien”. He would then go on to releasing the remix of the track “With Me” two months later. On 17 April 2020, DCON signed an international roster deal with London based Music Management Agency, Shodement International. In 2021, he appeared as a featured artist on several tracks but made his solo return in 2022 with “voice notes”.
