Mholi Khumalo, better known as Mholi De Khumz, is a House DJ & Producer from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, currently based in Goyang-si, South Korea. His parents introduced him to musical instruments in primary school, where he attended basic piano, steel drum and marimba lessons. Eventually, his love for music allowed him to develop a community of like minded people, that later introduced him to music production. Intent on showcasing his passion for music, he has grown to incorporate a variety of sounds inspired by township gqom, afro house and kwaito. His DJ career officially began at Rhodes University, under RMR 89.7FM. Where he enrolled as a rookie and participated in the battle of the DJ’s competition in that same year. After which he grew his audience playing at nightclubs in Grahamstown and Pietermaritzburg for 6 years before moving to South Korea.
