KIINfolk is finally on the path he never knew he needed to be on. The twenty-three-year-old emcee found himself at a crossroads when entering college in his hometown of Detroit. He had no idea what he wanted out of a degree, let alone a career. Fast forward four years and he had not gotten past his freshman year and was continually running into negative scenarios. The one bright spot was his love for music, and he found a great deal of inspiration from R&B acts like Frank Ocean and The Weekend , but also the visual storyline of rappers like J. Cole. A move to Atlanta was not in his cards either but necessary to ensure he did not ruin his life. It was then that he finally found a passion for creating music and developed his own sound based around infectious attuned vocal harmonies and a balance of trap music and soul production wise. Starting off learning how to make beats he crafted a sound solely by his lonesome. Now, with the right environment, KIINfolk is eager to push his craft to the public and share his love for the sport!
